Description
Furnace House is a late 16th century or early 17th century house that has undergone restorations in the 19th century. The main garden front features two storeys with an irregular arrangement of four and two windows. It has a high-pitched tiled roof with eaves that extend to create a deep overhang, likely added during the restoration. A tall central cruciform stack is present, and the first floor is roughcast. The ground floor displays visible timber framing with brick infilling, along with 19th century one-bar casements and a plank door. The gable ends are decorated with fancy tile hanging and 19th century bargeboards. There is a small south addition at right angles, which has a 19th century brick facade and porch. The main entrance is located under a modern pent porch.
