Description

Old Stanford's End is a 15th-century hall house located on Hartfield Road in Edenbridge. The building features exposed half-timbering with plaster infilling, and its first floor overhangs at both ends, supported by exposed joists and corner brackets. It has a steep hip tiled roof with overhanging eaves, where the rafters are visible and there are no gutters. A Tudor ridge stack is present on the roof. The windows are lattice casements, and there are plain boarded doors. Notably, there is a square projecting bay window with a half dormer above, and the gable end is decorated with an incised pattern in plaster. Old Stanford's End is part of a group that includes Stanford's End Farmhouse, an oast group, and a barn.
