Description

This is a 15th-century hall house located on Hartfield Road, Stanford's End, near Edenbridge. It is a two-storey building with an attic, originally featuring four windows. The roof is hipped and tiled, topped with a ridge stack, and incorporates two later pent dormers. The first floor is tile hung, while the ground floor shows exposed timber framing with plaster infill, except for a brick bay on the right side. A continuous plinth of coursed freestone is present. Modern casement windows with small leaded panes are fitted. A low, projecting extension is located on the left side of the building, and a panelled door sits under a bracketed hood. The interior reveals a two-bay hall with a large solar end and a small service end (or the reverse). In the attic, remains of a crown post truss are visible. The building is part of a group with Stanford's End, Stanford’s End Farmhouse, an oast house, and a barn.
