Description

Elbridge Farmhouse is a 15th-century timber-framed and close-studded hall-house built in the Wealden plan style, featuring plaster infilling. The building has two storeys, with the first floor of the end window bays extending out over the protruding ends of the floor joists. The central section has projecting coved eaves that are supported by curved braces. It has a steeply pitched hipped tiled roof and three casement windows. There is also a later tiled gabled porch added to the right end bay. This farmhouse is considered a good example of a Wealden Hall-House.
