Description

Broughton House is a villa dating from around 1830. It is a two-storey building with five windows. The exterior is constructed of yellow brick, topped by a parapet above a stone cornice featuring flat modillions. A concealed slate roof is present. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within moulded stone architraves, with blind cases. Ground-floor windows are positioned under pediments. A central, projecting stone porch features coupled Ionic columns, an entablature with large flat modillions, and a balustrade above. Glazed double doors are set within the porch. The interior remains virtually unaltered, exhibiting marble fireplace surrounds, an entablature to doors, and a cast iron staircase curving around a central well.
