Description
No. 2 The Green is a house that dates from the early 18th century and has three storeys plus an attic. It features one window and a rounded tiled mansard roof with a hipped end facing the road, which includes a modern flat dormer. The front is rendered and has a parapet. The first and second floors have later 19th century sash windows. The shop front, which is in the style of the second quarter of the 19th century, appears to be an imported or possibly reproduction Greek revival design, except for the large plate glass window. The building is noted for its group value as it forms part of a group with Nos. 1 to 3 and the Grasshopper Public House.
