Description
Number 1, The Green is a building with origins from the 17th century or earlier, featuring a front that dates from the 18th century. It has two storeys and two windows facing The Green, with a long left return to London Road. The building has a high-pitched tiled roof that is hipped on the left side, and it includes a boxed eaves gutter. The front is made of stucco, with quoins and a plinth, and it has incised lines that mimic stone courses. On the first floor, there is one casement window and one sash window, both from the 19th century. The ground floor features a double shop front from the late 19th century or early 20th century on the left and a single shop window on the right. Numbers 1 to 3, along with the Grasshopper Public House, form a group.
