Description
Outridge is a small 15th century timber-framed farmhouse located in Brasted. It stands two storeys high and features two windows. The roof is tiled and half-hipped on the right side. The building has a brick structure with a random rubble base, incorporating some 18th century brick and some earlier materials. There is a projecting chimney on the left made of old narrow bricks. The farmhouse has 19th century casement windows and a 19th century projecting pent porch supported by wooden posts and a brick base. To the right, there is a small lean-to extension. The rear of the house displays exposed timber with plaster filling. Inside, there is a significant amount of exposed heavy timber, likely from green wood, which appears somewhat warped. The arched tie beams and square framing are notable features. Outridge, along with its barn, oasthouse, and drying shed, forms a cohesive group.
