Description
Nashes Farmhouse is a 16th century or earlier timber-framed building with a 19th century rear extension, located on the east side of Penshurst New Road. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has an irregular layout, featuring two windows on the first floor and four on the ground floor. It has a high-pitched tiled roof with an old ridge stack. The first floor is tile hung, while the ground floor is constructed of brick. The first-floor windows are 18th century leaded iron casements, and the ground floor windows are a mix of 18th century and modern styles, lacking leading. There is a one-storey extension on the right side. Inside, the farmhouse contains several original fireplaces and a lot of exposed timber. The main roof is of the solid side-purlin type with wind braces, while the roof of the former shed, now part of the house, is of the collar-purlin type.
