Description
Hamsell Farmhouse, also known as Hamsell Cottage, is a 2-storey house dating from the 16th century. It features four windows and has a one-bay extension on the right. The building has a high-pitched tiled roof, which is now half hipped on the left side, and a compound ridge stack. The first floor is tile hung from the 19th century, while the ground floor is made of red brick with a pattern of blue headers. There is some exposed framing, and the windows are a mix of 19th century and modern casements, along with plank doors. The rear view reveals exposed square framing, with plaster filling on the left and brick filling in the projecting hipped wing on the right. There are also other, later extensions. Inside, the house features an inglenook and some exposed beams.
