Description
Heath Cottage and Bessels Cottage are adjoining buildings that were formerly one residence. Heath Cottage dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and features two storeys and an attic with five windows. It has a very high pitched tiled roof with one flat dormer and later end chimneys. The walls are roughcast, and it has sash windows with glazing bars. There is a modern projecting gabled porch and a two-storey, one-window left extension from the early 19th century. Bessels Cottage, built in the early 18th century, also has two storeys and an attic, with four windows. It has a high pitched tiled roof with three flat dormers and is constructed of painted brick. The sash windows, dating from the 18th or early 19th century, have glazing bars, and there is a round window in a recess on the first floor to the left. A large hipped tiled central modern porch completes the façade. The King's Head Public House, Dormers, and garden wall contribute to the group value of Heath Cottage and Bessels Cottage.
