Description

Park Place Cottages is a row of nine early 19th century cottages, built in two distinct phases. Each cottage is two stories high with one window. They have low-pitched slate roofs and stucco exteriors with incised lines. Yellow brick chimney stacks are a prominent feature. Cottages 5 to 9 have basement windows at ground level. The windows are sash windows, a mix of early 19th century styles, some with bars and some without. The doors are generally six-panel, some with glazed upper sections, though one is four-panel, and one is a more modern plank door. They are set within reeded door frames, sheltered by small hoods. The cottages are included in the listing primarily for group value, alongside the Post Office, Glencot, Yew Tree Cottage, Tanners Cottage, Southdown House, its garden wall, and Southdown Cottage.
