SUTTON VALENCE BABYLON LANE TQ 84 NW (south side) 4/108 Bardingley Farmhouse 26.4.68 GV II

Farmhouse. C14 or earlier core, with later alterations, restored in later C20. Timber framed with rendered infilling and plain tile roof. 4 timber-framed bays with fifth added to right. Probably fragment of aisled hall. 2 storeys on rendered plinth. Exposed principal posts and midrail and some exposed studding. Hipped roof. Multiple brick ridge stack towards centre. Irregular fenestration of 7 windows; five C20 casements, and one 4-light diamond mullion window either side of stack. Boarded door in left gable end. Interior: exposed framing. Fragment of central truss with passing braces and arch-braced rear arcade plate. Crown-post truss towards left end. Moated site.
