Description
Newnham Court Farm is a farmhouse, now a house, that dates from the late 15th century with 17th century, 18th century, and later alterations. It is timber framed and now rendered. The building features an open hall with a storeyed left end and possibly a storeyed right end. The right end of the house was rebuilt in the 17th century, which included a rear wing, and it was refronted in the 18th century. There are later rear additions. The structure has two storeys on a plinth, with a platt band on the right third of the building. The roof is hipped at the left end, while at the right end, the roof has been raised and is hipped to both the left and right. The ridge stack is off-centre to the right, and there is a projecting stack on the left gable end. The fenestration is irregular, featuring three 20th century casements on the first floor, with one located towards the right end of the lower section and two in the right section. A 20th century panelled door is set in a rendered porch with a pitched plain tile roof, located off-centre to the right beneath the stack. Inside, the farmhouse has a moulded end-of-hall beam on the ground floor, a crown post roof, and exposed posts and beams.
