Description

The Stonehouse is a house, dated 1 above a circular window (oeil-de-boeuf), built in the 18th century. It is constructed of galleted stone with a slate roof. The date "1 J 1758" is also visible. The house is two storeys high and sits on a plinth. It has brick gable end stacks, one at the right end towards the rear, and two hipped dormers. The front facade is regular, featuring two glazing bar sashes and a central oeil-de-boeuf window. A central ribbed door is incorporated, with two small vertical lights above it. A 19th-century rear wing extends to the right, originally used as a laundry for Park House at Boxley. The wing is of painted brick and was originally one storey high, but has since been raised to two storeys, with a brick stack at the junction with the main block.
