Description

The Well House is a house dating from the 15th or 16th century. It is timber framed with a brick ground floor, a rendered first floor, and a plain tile roof. The house stands on a stone plinth and has a hipped roof. A jetty may have existed at the left end, now incorporated into a single-storey stone lean-to, which has a twisted stone stack at its left corner. A ridge stack is positioned off-centre to the left, and a rear stack is towards the left end of the building. The windows are arranged irregularly, with one two-light casement towards the left end and one single-light window centrally. The entrance has a ribbed door set within a four-centred arched architrave, featuring hollow spandrels and hollow-chamfered jambs.
