Description

Little Hawkenbury is a farmhouse, likely dating from the 17th century or earlier. It is timber framed, with the ground floor largely rebuilt in red and grey brick using a Flemish bond pattern. The first floor has been clad with close-studding in the 20th century, replacing earlier weatherboarding. The left gable end exhibits broad, spaced framing with tension braces. The roof is covered in plain tiles, originally thatched. The building has a stone plinth, raised towards the centre. It has a hipped roof with a gablet to the left, and a brick ridge stack positioned towards the left. The windows are irregularly placed casements, comprising a central 3-light window which breaks the eaves and has a gable over it, and two 2-light windows. A ribbed door with a top light is located under an open-gabled porch beneath the stack. The interior of the property has not been inspected.
