Description

Cowstead is a house that dates back to the 15th century or earlier. It features a timber frame with the ground floor rendered and the first floor pebbledashed. The roof, which was added in the 20th century, is covered with plain tiles and has a steep pitch that is half-hipped at the right end. There is a slightly off-centre multiple brick ridge stack on the roof and a small hipped dormer on the left end. The windows include one 2-light leaded casement on the left end and an early 19th-century tripartite sash to the right of it. A panelled door is located beneath the stack. To the right, there is a short rear wing that is two storeys tall and constructed with the same materials.
