Description
This barn, located about 2.5 metres south-west of Chart Hall Farmhouse, dates back to the 18th century. It features a timber frame with broadly-spaced studding and brick nogging on the ground floor, while the first floor is weatherboarded. The roof is covered with plain tiles, half-hipped to the left and hipped to the right, and there are double doors beneath a hipped canopy. A lean-to structure is present on the left side. Inside, the barn consists of four timber-framed bays with a rear aisle, and there is a midstrey in the second bay from the left. The roof is a clasped purlin design with principal rafters that barely reduce in size. The barn was constructed using re-used timber and is included for its group value.
