Description
Great Humphries Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located on the north side of Coldbridge Lane in Boughton Malherbe. The building is constructed of red and grey brick in English bond and features a plain tile roof. It may be a fragment of a larger house.
The west elevation has two storeys and attics, set on a chamfered brick plinth. A deep moulded brick string course runs along the front and continues along the left return wing. The roof is hipped to the left (north) with the hip returning. There is a projecting brick stack on the south gable end and a gabled dormer. The fenestration is irregular, featuring one four-light 20th-century casement window.
The rear return wing on the left has one window on each floor, framed by a chamfered 17th-century brick architrave. The side of the wing includes a two-light ovolo-moulded mullioned window on the first floor. A door is located in a lean-to at the re-entrant angle. The interior has not been inspected.
