Description

Marchant Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-to-late 19th century, featuring a front that belongs to an earlier building. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high on a plinth, with a plat band. The farmhouse has slightly projecting end stacks and a regular arrangement of windows, which includes two two-storey flat-roofed canted bays that are either painted brick or tile-hung, with the plat band continuing around them. The central door is framed by an architrave with pilasters, recessed panels, a lightly-swagged frieze, and a slightly eared segmental pediment. To the left, there is a rear wing that is timber framed, partially brick, and partially weatherboarded, also with a plain tile roof and two lower storeys, featuring a brick ridge stack towards the rear. The rear wing to the right is made of red brick and has two lower storeys. The interior has not been inspected.
