Description
This is a cottage incorporating elements from the 17th and 19th centuries. The right-hand section dates back to the 17th century and is timber-framed. The ground floor here is built with red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, while the first floor is plastered, with a stippled effect on the right end. Three widely spaced timber studs are visible on the first floor, including one truncated two-story post in the center, with plaster filling the gaps between. The cottage sits on a stone plinth and likely originally had two timber-framed bays. There are two first-floor windows with two lights each; one is located immediately to the right of the truncated post, and the other towards the left end. This section was built after the original Old Manor House was truncated, and it adjoins that building on the right. The left-hand section is from the 19th century and is constructed of brick. It is taller than the right-hand section and has a first-floor casement window and a rear stack at the right end. A boarded door is situated at the right end. This section serves as a link between the former Maltings to the left and the timber-framed section to the right.
