Description

A barn dating to the 17th century is located about 16.5 metres southwest of Little Moatenden. The barn is timber-framed and has been clad in weatherboarding, standing on a stone plinth. It has a plain tile roof, hipped to the west. A double door is set into the left-hand bay. A lean-to has been added to the right and rear. The interior comprises three timber-framed bays. The left gable end has been rebuilt, but the studding is otherwise intact, featuring tension braces. The roof is a common rafter design with raked queen-struts to the purlins, and incorporates edge-halved scarf joints.
