Description
This barn, located approximately 20 yards south-west of Waterditch Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century with some 20th-century alterations. It features a timber frame set on a flint plinth and is weatherboarded, topped with a hipped corrugated iron roof. The barn has canopied doors that are off-centre to the left. Inside, it consists of six bays, with aisles on both ends and sides. The posts are slightly jowled with long cut jowls, and there are straight tie-beams. Curved braces support the arcade plates, and curved shores are present on the arcade posts, which are trenched over the arcade tie-beams. The studs in the walls are likely original, while the roof above the tie-beams was added in the 20th century.
