Description
Cuckoo Wood Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is timber-framed, with the left third of the front elevation clad in handmade bricks, likely from the 18th century, arranged in an irregular Flemish-type bond. The right two-thirds are covered in 19th-century red brick laid in Flemish bond. The left gable end features tile-hanging on the first floor, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. The farmhouse has two storeys set on a flint plinth and a hipped roof. There is a projecting red brick stack on the left gable end and a brick ridge stack located to the right of the centre. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of three 19th-century casements, with the ground floor windows having segmental heads. A boarded door is located at the right end within a small 20th-century red brick porch. To the left, there is a small lean-to that was once a dairy. Inside, the structure consists of three bays with unsquared tie-beams, roughly jowled posts, and tension braces.
