Description
This is a barn located about 30 meters north-north-west of Wolsey Place, dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. The structure consists of four timber-framed bays, with a midstrey in the third bay from the left. A fifth bay was added to the right, likely in the 18th century. The roof is hipped with a gablet on the right side and features central full-height double doors.
Inside, the barn has gunstock jowls on the principal posts and arch-braced tie-beams. The principal posts of the second truss from the left are ledged for a cross beam that is no longer present. The roof is a clasped-purlin type with diminishing principal rafters and vertical queen struts supporting the collars. Windbraces are present only in the second and third bays from the left. The tie-beam and wall-plates are aligned in the same plane at the right gable end. Wolsey Place itself is not listed.
