Description
This barn, likely dating to the 16th or 17th century, stands about 8 metres north-west of Grigg Farmhouse. It is a timber-framed structure with exposed framing. The walls are filled with lath and daub above a central rail, and broad oak plank weatherboarding is visible on the inside of the barn below that rail. Each bay features two long ogee tension braces, halved across the outside of the central rail, and two arch-braces extending from the central post of each bay to the wall plate. The roof is hipped and covered with plain tiles, incorporating gablets. A central entry provides access. The interior has three bays, supported by timber-framed posts. It contains a common rafter roof with lapped collars.
