Description

This is a headstone, bodystone, and footstone for John Knight, located approximately 15 yards south of the west tower of the Church of St. John the Baptist in Harrietsham. It dates from the mid-18th century. The top of the headstone is carved in low relief, depicting what appears to be Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, along with flowers and cherub heads. John Knight passed away in 1777.
