Description
This barn, dating from the 18th century, is located about 100 metres north-west of Cheveney Farm Cottages. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. The barn has a double depth design, featuring a main range with three timber-framed bays and a rear aisle. There is an additional range at the front consisting of two contiguous timber-framed bays, with one bay at the front of the right end of the main range and another overlapping the central and left end bays. There are no apparent internal subdivisions. The structure has a brick plinth and a half-hipped roof on the main range. A 20th-century lean-to roof extends from the right front bay, continuing below the eaves, while the roof of the left front bay is half-hipped to the front. The right front bay has double doors. Inside, the barn features gunstock jowls on the principal posts, almost straight braces to the arcade plate, and a staggered butt purlin roof in the main range, with a similar roof in the front left bay.
