Description
Cheveney Farm Cottages is a pair of houses that were originally a farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century, although the building may have origins in the 17th century. The facade and gable ends are constructed of chequered red and grey brick, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. The structure has two storeys and a garret, featuring a plat band and an eaves band, along with a plain stone-coped parapet and a half-hipped roof. A tall, broad central ridge stack is present. The front has a regular arrangement of three windows, consisting of two 16-pane sash windows in open boxes and a slightly narrower blocked central window, all with segmental heads. The central entrance has double doors, each with two fielded panels and a top light, framed by a moulded wooden architrave and sheltered by an open wooden porch. At the rear, there is a parallel range with lower eaves, a tall rear stack, and a 12-pane sash window on the first floor, also with a segmental head. The interior has not been inspected. The building was formerly known as Cheveney Farm.
