Description

Murrells is a 17th century or earlier L-shaped house located on Vale Road in Northfleet. The house features timber framing, with its walls rendered and painted to resemble timbering, and has a tiled roof. The south wing has a first floor that oversails on brackets, with a gable above and a possible early window on the first floor. All other windows in the house are modern. The west wing displays the date 1687 incised in plaster and has a flat-topped porch supported by two columns and two pilasters, along with a hipped roof. The house is named Murrells after the family that occupied it from 1700 to 1840.
