Description

DEDHAM BARGATES LANE 1. 5124 TM 03 SE 5/12 Bargates Farmhouse II 2. C17 or earlier house. Timber frame clad in weatherboards, painted, aligned east, west. South front 3 bays with central red brick chimney. Ground storey has door in wooden case and modern windows one on first storey and one on ground storey; a symmetrically placed. Roof ridged, gabled and peg-tiled. C19 wing at north-west, forming an L-plan in brick. There seems to be an underbuilt jetty on the east, end-wall, which would postulate a front jetty to the north elevation.
