Description

Old Timbers is a 17th-century house located on Church Lane in Hampton Bishop. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick infill and a sandstone plinth, topped by a slate roof. The house has three framed bays arranged in a north/south direction, facing west, with a south gable end stack that is enclosed by a 19th-century adjoining cottage, which is not of special architectural interest. The central entrance is flanked by a lean-to on the north side. The building stands two storeys tall and includes three 20th-century windows and a central 20th-century door with a side light. Although the framing has been altered, it remains fairly complete, showcasing three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with a V-strut in the north gable.
