Description
Hampton House is a house from the early 19th century, built on the site of an earlier structure. It features a brick exterior with a sandstone ashlar plinth and dressings, and a sandstone rubble rear wing. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The main house is single depth, with rear stacks and a central entrance, along with a rear wing that includes a 20th-century addition to the west, which is not of special interest. The house has two storeys, a string course, and a central pedimented section that slightly projects forward. There are two sets of plain sash windows on either side of a central pair, making a 2:1:2 arrangement. The entrance is highlighted by a wooden Tuscan portico and features a semi-circular headed doorway with a decorative fanlight and a partly glazed door.
