Description

Church Farmhouse is a 17th-century timber-framed farmhouse situated on Whitehall Road in Hampton Bishop. The structure has wattle-and-daub infill between the timbers, a sandstone plinth, and slate roofs. It follows an H-plan, with lateral chimneys and a central entrance facing north. There is a further entrance on the side of the west cross-wing. The farmhouse is single-storied with an attic, featuring a 2-light glazing bar casement window at the gable end of each wing. Flanking the central hall are gabled dormers and a 2-light leaded casement window, with a further window below the eaves to the right of a panelled door. 19th-century bargeboards decorate the gables. The interior is believed to contain an 18th-century staircase with turned balusters.
