Description

Magpie Cottage is a house built in the late 18th century. It has a timber frame and is covered with weatherboarding. The roof is made of pantiles, although it was formerly thatched, and the left gable end features painted mathematical tiles. The cottage is positioned at right angles to the road and has two storeys set on a stone plinth. It has a half-hipped roof with a central brick stack. The front has a regular arrangement of two windows, each with two-light casements. There is a 20th-century ribbed door located under the stack, and a rear lean-to is present on the right side. The interior has only been partly inspected, but it features exposed framing. The cottage is included in the listing for its group value.
