Description

Dambridge House is an early 18th-century house located on Wingham Staple Road. It is constructed of painted brick with a plain tiled roof. The house is two storeys and has an attic, standing on a plinth with a plat band and a cornice to the return fronts. The shaped gables feature three compass segments to the right and two segmental sections with an open pediment to the left. Chimneys are located at the end to the left, centre right, and projecting at the end right, with two gabled dormers visible in the attic. The first floor has four three-light leaded wooden casements. The ground floor features two glazing bar sashes and a tripartite glazing bar sash to the centre left. A door with six raised and fielded panels, the top two panels glazed, is centrally located to the right and is sheltered by a gabled porch. A rear wing extends out and features parapet coping. The interior includes moulded joists, framed partitions, and a dog-leg staircase with turned principals but unturned balusters.
