Description
This is a range of 16th-century timber-framed houses at 15-21 Church Street. The first floors of these houses project outwards, supported by a carved bressummer and brackets. Each house is two storeys high and originally had one window on each floor. Number 17 has a half-hipped gable with an attic window, also projecting. Number 15 has been entirely refaced with cement, while number 17 has been partly refaced. Numbers 19 and 21 have brick infilling painted to resemble brickwork. Sash windows with intact glazing bars have been inserted on the ground floors of numbers 15, 19, and 21; the remaining houses have casement windows. Numbers 19 and 21 feature a moulded wooden eaves cornice. These properties, along with numbers 13, 27 and 33, are considered a group.
