Description
The Drum is a Grade II listed building located at No 22 Church Street, St Mary's. Originally built in the 15th century as a timber-framed house, it was expanded nearly a century later with the addition of a second floor. The building stands three storeys tall, featuring three windows on the first floor and two on the second floor. The ground floor has been rebuilt in painted brick. The first floor overhangs, supported by the protruding ends of the floor joists. Both the first and second floors are studded with a combination of plaster and herringbone brick infilling, along with curved braces. The windows on the building are modern. The Drum is part of a group that includes Nos 16 to 22 (even), the walling to the rear of Nos 16, 18, and 20, as well as Nos 26 to 34 (even) and the walling between Nos 32 and 34.
