Description

Nos 3 and 5 on Vicarage Lane are a pair of buildings dating from the medieval period, featuring a stone arch with a dripstone above, which dates to the mid-13th century and serves as the entrance doorway. The structure likely began as a single house and includes a timber-framed building from the 16th century or earlier, with plaster infilling. The ground floor has been underbuilt and refaced with painted brick. Curved braces are present flanking the first floor. These buildings, along with No 1 (Water Lane House), Bowling Cottage, and Nos 3 to 7 on Bowling Street, form a cohesive group.
