Description

Originally St Mary’s Vicarage, the building dates back to the 15th century, although the brick facade is of the late 17th century. Numbers 1 and 1A form a pair. Number 1A has a pair of doors with glazed upper panels and bolection moulding below. It contains one window on the ground floor, with plain glass and shutters to one window. The other window is obscured. Number 1 has lost its leaded lights and now has two casement windows with plain panels below. One casement has a diamond lead light, and one shutter is in two panels. The building is two storeys high. The roofs are part plain tiled and part roofing felt, with a pantiled rear addition.

Nos 1 to 5, along with No 1 (Water Lane House), Bowling Cottage and Nos 3 to 7 (odd) on Bowling Street form a group.
