Description
These are 16th-century timber-framed houses which were refronted in the 18th century. They are three storeys high, and primarily of painted brick with some areas of pebble dash rendering. Number 50 has a gable front. The roofs are covered with tiles. A moulded bressumer featuring a vine motif and carved console brackets is present. Each house has one window to each floor, with first-floor bay windows, and modern shop fronts. The side elevation of number 49 is partially tile-hung. Numbers 49 to 60, together with the Methodist Church and its forecourt, form a group.
