Description

Number 23 Burgate is a building dating from the 16th to 17th century, which was refaced in the 18th century. It features a late 18th-century facade with four storeys made of yellow brick and stone coping. The building has four sash windows with intact glazing bars and a wrought iron shop bracket. The early 19th-century shopfront includes reeded pilasters, and the central doorcase has a rectangular fanlight. This property, along with numbers 23 to 37 Burgate and the Christchurch Gateway, forms a group.
