Description
Number 1 Butchery Lane is a 14th-century timber-framed house that stands two storeys high and features dormers. The exterior is plastered, and it has an old, steeply pitched tiled roof with two hipped dormers. There is a moulded eaves cornice and two sash windows that have vertical glazing bars only. A bressumer is supported by brackets, and there is a later 19th-century shopfront added to the building. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 9 and Nos 38 to 44 Burgate, as well as Nos 1 to 8A and Nos 10 to 16 Mercery Lane.
