No. 43 Burgate is a late 14th-century timber-framed building that forms part of the range including Nos. 40-44. It stands three storeys high and is covered in stucco with an old tiled roof. The building features one 18th-century sash window set within a moulded architrave and has an overhang. There is also a modern shopfront. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 38 to 44 on Burgate and Nos. 1 to 9 on Butchery Lane, as well as Nos. 1 to 8A and Nos. 10 to 16 on Mercery Lane.
