Number 23 George Street is a building dating from around 1500. It has two storeys and features two windows, topped by a high-pitched, tiled roof. The exterior is rough-cast, and the overhanging first floor is supported by a carved beam. The first floor has 19th-century sash windows. The ground floor has been renewed in brick and includes late 19th-century shop windows. There is a carriageway with exposed timbers running through the center of the building. Numbers 18 to 28 George Street form a group with this property.
