Description

No. 5 George Street is a building from an earlier period, standing two storeys tall with two windows. It features a high-pitched roof covered with machine tiles, which is partly hidden by a parapet. The facade is plastered, and on the first floor, there are 19th-century sash windows set in earlier projecting, moulded frames. The ground floor has an early 19th-century shop front that has been altered by the removal of fanlights, but it still retains pilasters, curved brackets, and a panelled soffit above the fascia, which has a dentil cornice. Nos. 1 to 7 George Street form a group.
