Description
33 High Street is an early 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and features four windows. The upper storey and roof may have been added later. It has a fairly low-pitched, hipped, swept slated roof with paired brackets at the eaves. The building is constructed of brick, with lighter brick quoins, and has gauged brick window arches and jambs. There is a moulded and dentilled brick string at the second floor level. The right end window is blocked on both floors, while the other windows are recessed sashes with glazing bars set in stucco-lined reveals. The ground floor has a modern shop, and there is a carriageway on the right. The rear elevation and the rear wing consist of three and one bays, respectively, and are stuccoed. The rear wing features sash windows with glazing bars in exposed frames and has tiled roofs. The core of the rear wing and possibly the front building may date from an earlier period.
