Description

This barn, located about 30 metres north-west of Hogben Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century or earlier. It is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, topped with a plain tiled roof. The roof is hipped and features outshots on both the left and right sides, along with a boarded central door and a shuttered opening to the upper right. Inside, the barn was originally fully aisled but now has one aisle across three bays with terminal outshots. It includes gunstock-jowl aisle and main posts, curved passing shores, and a clasped purlin roof. The east wall, which serves as the entrance porch, was rebuilt against the main posts in the mid-20th century.
