Description
Tickner Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century. It is timber framed and clad with red and blue brick, with the ground floor rendered and the upper floor tile hung. The roof is plain tiled. The building features three framed bays and is two storeys high, set on a ragstone base. It has a continuous jetty supported by brackets and dragon posts, which returns to the side elevations. The roof is hipped with gablets and has a moulded stack cluster located to the centre right and another to the rear left in an outshot. On the first floor, there are four wooden casements, while the ground floor has two wooden casements and a glazed door at the end right. The main entry is located in the left return and consists of a plank and stud door, with wooden casements on each floor. At the rear, there is a brick catslide outshot.
